Founder & Executive Director
It all started with me wanting to give more than a dollar to someone in need. In 2015, while working in downtown Atlanta, I often gave singles to anyone who asked. One day, I asked myself, "How far does a dollar really go?" That question became the seed for Jo-Anne's House Atlanta.
We started by providing hygiene items to homeless and at-risk individuals but soon realized many people needed more than immediate relief; they needed long-term solutions.
Today, we provide financial education, credit-building resources, and personalized support to help people secure affordable housing and achieve homeownership. We strongly believe that when people are given the right tools and opportunity, they can overcome challenges and forge new beginnings.
Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit began by providing hygiene essentials to homeless individuals, but quickly realized that lasting change required more than meeting immediate needs.
Every person we served had a financial story; their credit was destroyed by their circumstances and the barriers to housing seemed insurmountable. So we shifted from crisis response to prevention.
Now we provide the credit guidance, financial literacy, and resources people need to move from housing instability to homeownership.
We serve the "hidden homeless," those experiencing housing instability who may not be visible in traditional counts but face the same barriers to stability.
