Eviction Assistance: Atlanta Rising Helps Residents
If you live in the City of Atlanta and are at risk of losing your housing, a new homelessness prevention program may be able to help before a family ends up in a shelter, hotel, car, or on the street. The Atlanta Rising Prevention Pilot provides financial assistance, supportive services, and legal assistance to qualifying individuals and families facing an immediate risk of homelessness.
Who May Qualify?
To be considered, your household must:
- Live within the City of Atlanta
- Currently have housing but be at risk of losing it within two weeks
- Have household income below 80% of Area Median Income.
Meeting those requirements does not guarantee assistance. Applicants also complete an assessment that looks at their risk of becoming homeless.
What Kind of Help Is Available?
Depending on your situation, the program can provide flexible financial assistance, housing stability support, and legal assistance aimed at resolving the immediate problem threatening your housing.
The important part is timing. You do not have to wait until you are already homeless to ask for help. If you know you're falling behind and believe you could lose your housing soon, reach out while you are still housed.
How Do You Apply?
The program is being administered through Project Community Connections, Inc. (PCCI).
Eligible Atlanta residents can begin the application process online through the Atlanta Rising Prevention Pilot page. PCCI's Re Housing Opportunity Center is located at 302 Decatur Street SE, Suite 101, Atlanta, GA 30312 and is open by appointment Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
