Atlanta Habitat for Humanity's Browns Mill Village: A Community Taking Shape

Since our previous update, Browns Mill Village has continued to grow into one of Atlanta Habitat for Humanity's most ambitious affordable homeownership communities.
Located in southeast Atlanta, the mixed-income development is planned to include 134 homesites, featuring 75 single-family homes built by Atlanta Habitat for Humanity and 59 townhomes developed in partnership with Cityscape Housing and Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership. The community offers a mix of affordable homeownership opportunities while promoting long-term neighborhood stability.
In 2024, Senator Jon Ossoff secured $2 million in federal funding to support the project's second phase, helping Atlanta Habitat build 20 additional homes within Browns Mill Village.
Today, Browns Mill Village stands as Atlanta Habitat's first large-scale planned development and a model for future mixed-income communities. Beyond creating affordable homes, the neighborhood is designed to encourage community connection through thoughtful planning, walkable spaces, and proximity to local amenities such as Southside Park, Browns Mill Golf Course, and the Urban Food Forest.
As construction continues, Browns Mill Village represents more than new housing, it reflects an ongoing investment in expanding affordable homeownership opportunities for Atlanta families.
