Emmanuel's Village: Tiny Homes Planned for Homeless Families in Marietta

A new housing community is planned in Marietta, specifically for families with children experiencing homelessness.
Emmanuel's Village will include 15 tiny homes on approximately 1.5 acres along Cobb Parkway. Each home will have a kitchen, bathroom, living area, sleeping space, heating and air conditioning, and internet access. The need is significant. Marietta schools reported 458 students experiencing homelessness at the time of the April 2026 announcement.
More Than Temporary Shelter
Emmanuel's Village is being developed as transitional housing, which provides families with a temporary home and support while they work toward obtaining permanent housing.
Families are expected to stay for approximately 12-18 months and receive help connecting with community resources and addressing the circumstances that contributed to their housing instability. The community will also include a playground, community garden and shared gathering space. Marietta City Council has already approved the detailed plans for the 15-home development.
Funding Is Still Needed
The project is expected to cost approximately $3.2 million. As of April, organizers raised about $1.4 million and continue to seek funding to move construction forward. Emmanuel's Village is also seeking state homelessness funding to help complete the project.
Once built, the goal is to give parents and children a period of stability, while the family prepares for their permanent home.
