The Biden Administration announced on June 24, 2021 that it will extend the federal eviction moratorium to July 31, 2021. The moratorium was initially implemented by the Centers for Disease Control at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The extension will include a series of actions to help state and local governments prevent evictions. The Administration will also take action to stabilize homeowners and support a return to a more stable housing market, including extending the foreclosure moratorium for federally-backed mortgages through July 31, 2021.
