Gilgal Village Opens Recovery Housing for Women in Atlanta

What Is Gilgal Village?
Atlanta has opened Gilgal Village, a new recovery focused housing community for women at 553 Mobile Avenue SW. Operated by Gilgal, Inc., the development provides short term housing for women who have begun recovery from substance use but still need a stable and supportive environment as they work toward greater independence.
Gilgal Village uses modular housing to provide women with a safe place to live while continuing their recovery. The first phase includes two new modular homes, expanding the housing available through Gilgal's existing recovery program.
The program focuses on more than housing. Women receive support designed to address substance use, employment, life skills and other barriers that can make it difficult to regain stability.
This matters because leaving treatment or beginning recovery does not automatically mean someone has a safe home to return to. Without stable housing, maintaining progress can become much harder.
