Construction is underway on the second phase of McAuley Park, a senior housing development located beside Mercy Care's health center in Atlanta's Sweet Auburn neighborhood.

McAuley Park Phase II will bring 96 apartments for adults 55 and older to 300 Chamberlin Street SE. Of those, 86 apartments will be income restricted, with 19 reserved for households earning up to 50% of the Area Median Income and 67 for households earning up to 60% AMI. The remaining 10 apartments will be market rate.

Housing and Healthcare in the Same Place

What makes McAuley Park different is what's next door.

Residents will live beside Mercy Care's flagship health center, which provides primary care, behavioral healthcare and other services, including care for people experiencing homelessness and those who are uninsured. The development is also within walking distance of the King Memorial MARTA station and the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation and Aquatic Center.

For an older adult, especially someone living on a fixed income or managing health concerns, having affordable housing close to medical care and public transportation can make a major difference in their ability to remain independent.

Part of a Larger Development

Phase II follows McAuley Station, the first residential phase of the development, which includes 170 affordable, workforce and transitional apartments. Together, the larger McAuley Park plan combines housing with healthcare and other supportive services in one community.

Construction on Phase II is beginning now, with applications expected to become available closer to completion.
