Veterans Village Opens in Mableton

A former hotel in Mableton, located in south Cobb, is now providing permanent housing for veterans experiencing homelessness.
Veterans Village includes 88 individual housing units and is the first Veterans Village in Georgia developed by the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
More Than a Place to Stay
Unlike an emergency shelter, Veterans Village provides permanent housing, meaning residents aren't required to leave after a predetermined period.
Veterans also have access to on-site support addressing their physical, emotional, and financial needs, along with a gym, business center, cafeteria, commercial kitchen, and community spaces. Both male and female veterans can live at the property.
The Home Depot Foundation contributed $500,000 toward renovating the former hotel, and more than 100 Home Depot employees volunteered to help prepare the property.
For veterans experiencing homelessness in Metro Atlanta, the development provides something increasingly important, a permanent home with support available in the same place.
