A new mixed income community is beginning to welcome residents in the West End.

Woodrow House, located at 840 Woodrow Street SW along the Atlanta BeltLine's Westside Trail, will bring 325 new homes to the area, including 66 affordable and workforce housing units.

The first 25 build to rent townhomes are now complete, and residents have started moving in. Additional apartments and townhomes are expected to open over the coming months as the development moves toward full completion.

More Than Housing

Woodrow House is also bringing more than 12,000 square feet of retail and community space to the neighborhood.

Plans include storefronts for local businesses, public gathering spaces and a workforce training facility. The development also includes shipping containers converted into smaller retail spaces intended to give local entrepreneurs another way to establish a presence in the community.

Its location along the Westside Trail also puts residents within walking distance of the BeltLine and connects the development to the continued investment happening throughout the West End.

A Mixed Income Addition to the West End

Woodrow House isn't a fully affordable development. Most of its homes will be market rate, with 66 units designated as affordable or workforce housing.

That distinction matters as Atlanta works to add housing at different price points throughout the city. Developments like Woodrow House show one way affordable and workforce units can be incorporated into larger market rate communities while adding new businesses and community spaces at the same time.

With the first homes now occupied, Woodrow House has moved beyond the planning and construction stage and is officially becoming part of the West End community.
